Bameen organise a visit of 10 kids from Black & Minority Ethnic group to Hull’s Scrapstore as part of the Black History partnership (BHP) celebrations in Hull. These kids came from Congolese, Gambian, Afghan and Iraqi background. At the store the kids were shown some many waste materials and were later ask to relate to and make some activities with the materials. We know that community engagement is very important on any issue of general concern but with hard to engage groups the issues of waste & recycling has often had a low priority which is a cost to everyone. Increased awareness, training and activity in these areas will be of benefit to the wider community and their environment. The kids took part in a lot of different creative and fun activities
